We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic ST3+ Haematology Doctor to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Haematology Department for a fixed term 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with prior Core Medical Training (or equivalent) who is looking to further develop their skills within a busy but supportive NHS environment.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care across malignant and non-malignant haematology, laboratory haematology, and inpatient and outpatient services.

- Be able to project ascetic-drainage, chest aspiration and other ward based practical necessities.

- Full GMC registration and a license to practise
- Experience in cancer treatment
- Knowledge of management of haematology and oncological emergencies
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care across malignant and non-malignant haematology, laboratory haematology, and inpatient and outpatient services.
- Gain broad experience in haematology prior to specialist training.
- Clinical work includes outpatients, inpatient care including chemotherapy.
- Opportunity to gain experience in laboratory haematology and bone marrow biopsies.
- Cover the emergency assessment bay, wards, and chemotherapy suites.
- Participate in programmes for teaching clinical students, training junior doctors and in clinical examinations.
- Participate in research, learn about intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer.
- Participate in all clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, morbidity and mortality reviews and meetings, clinical effectiveness, risk management, quality improvement activities.
- Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients, and the running of clinical departments.
- Manage risk within the Trust's policies and procedures.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Statutory Regulations and Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Assist in the management of clinical trial patients.
Benefits
- Salary: £52,656 to £65,048 a year per annum/pro rata
- Educational opportunities, equivalent to those afforded to doctors participating in recognised training schemes.
- The Trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.
- Professional or study leave will be granted at the discretion of the Trust.
- The Trust has the required arrangements in place to ensure that all doctors have an annual appraisal with a trained appraiser and supports doctors going through the revalidation process.
