Your role will involve a wide variety of activities that all aim to ensure the museums are well presented, safe and attractive for visitors.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with people
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible approach to work practices
  • Ability to lift and carry items
  • Willingness to complete all necessary training
  • Availability for out of hours key holding
  • Previous work experience of basic maintenance, key holding, driving, gardening, painting, basic repairs and janitorial activities
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Must become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Use a tractor, forklift and van and other tools
  • Undertake tasks such as setting up for events in all weathers
  • Gardening
  • Assisting with repairs
  • Working with steam vehicles
