The Elderly Care Department based at Watford General Hospital is seeking a Resident Doctor (ST1/2) to start as soon as possible. The post is Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with an eventual on-call commitment of 1A. The department has 10 consultant posts with subspecialty interests including Orthogeriatric Medicine, Movement Disorder, Dementia/Delirium, and Continence. The Stroke Team provides hyperacute stroke services, and the department plays an active role in Intermediate Care.
Requirements
- Doctors are expected to become competent at organising the day-to-day duties of the clinical areas.
- The post-holder will be expected to work closely with appropriate nursing, professional, technical, and administrative and support staff.
- The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring adequate clinical notes are made in accordance with good medical practice.
- The post-holder may, on occasions, be asked to assist in the teaching of medical students.
Responsibilities
- Organise day-to-day duties within clinical areas.
- Collaborate with nursing, professional, technical, administrative, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes.
- Assist in teaching medical students when required.
- Perform duties over and above contracted hours in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, at the request of the Clinical Director.
